About Trail Blazer Therapy

Trail Blazer Therapy, was given its name as the rising needs for therapy continued, and also acknowledged that for most, therapy is a new form of help not only to individuals, but to their familial and social systems. Malique aims to remove the stigma and shame that comes along with asking for help, and instead promoting pride in taking care of yourself and bravery to trail blaze change for yourself and those around you.

When coming in to see Malique, what you can expect is to be met with intention to your uniqueness as a person and your experiences that you come in with. Malique aims to meet you where you are at in any given session to ensure you still working on becoming your ideal self, even on the days that it feels hard to do.

In the first couple of sessions you can expect to talk about yourself as a whole person, not just your problems, and begin to learn with the therapist about yourself. Together we will identify patterns and barriers that keep you from being the person that you want to be. Sounds doable right?

Take the first step and fill out a contact form to have a consultation call scheduled. I look forward to talking and working with you!

Malique

I come from my hometown of Oceanside, California where a majority of inspiration to be a therapist came from. The other part of inspiration came from moving around in a Navy family to place such as Hawaii, Virginia and Nevada. These were big influences in being a therapist and forming me into a people person, as I got to experience a variety of people and hear unique experiences. On the other side of that, there is acknowledgement of the various factors that may lead to poor mental and emotional health. Witnessing and hearing the effects of the various pressures of the world, constant reminders of the ugly side of humanity, being stuck in generational cycles and feelings of hopelessness, my heart and passion grew to helping people in the best way that I could.

As a therapist I bring some unique pieces of myself into the therapy room at times. Being bi-racial, and growing up in a wide variety of cultures, I learned how to adapt easily and speak to anyone that crosses my path, regardless of differences. I am former college football player and current Jiu Jitsu practitioner where problem solving, identifying patterns and keeping cool under pressure gets you a long way. Lastly, I am a lover of various arts and love to have those last couple of minutes of session to connect with you about what you find passion in, to take away the feeling of talking to a complete stranger!
