Yes,
I just recently finished a book aiming to help athletes begin the journey of having their mindset and internal athlete help their physical performance. In therapy, the goal is to get the internal athlete to match the needs of the physical athlete. This prevents silly mistakes, emotional blowouts and becoming an athlete that is ineffective in crunch time.
I haven’t quite decided on a title, but the thought started with what I learned at these exclusive workouts every Sunday when I was in high school and college called “PTP” or Pay The Price workouts. It lasted several years and gave valuable examples of how the mind and emotions of an athlete need to be strong to get the best out of your performance.
That is then reinforced by lessons I have learned from wise coaches, observation and even some professional athletes. while it does not have every tool that I use, it does have a good enough of a foundation to begin some deeper insight into yourself with tools, heavy hitting questions and challenges to look past your own biases.
What are some barriers that you can already identify that keep you from being your best athlete self?
Think someone can benefit from extra help from an actual athlete and therapist? Pas my info along and I will be happy to help!
