Chapter Two talks about the overview of the complete athlete and the structure of chapters in this book. The entirety of the book is meant to acknowledge, build and solidify only our athlete selves and go into greater detail than general thinking.
Part 1:
Athlete Identification
The first 1/3 of the book is spent solely identifying and digging deeper into who you are as an athlete or performer. This ranges from your attitude and personality as an athlete to the skill sets and expectations that you need to complete to be successful in your area of play (the place where you perform/practice/play).
Part 2:
Developmental Athlete
The second 1/3 of the book is really tool and skill heavy. After identifying who were as athletes and performers, we begin to build ourselves into the athletes we want to be. Most of the tool are mental, with intention to promote optimism and focus on precise execution of the skill you are building. In this phase of the book, we are not only developing our physical selves, but our mental and emotional selves within our athlete part of our lives.
Part 3:
UnbreakableAthlete Athlete
The last 1/3 of the book is focused on tying everything together and building a mindset that will become unshakable in the face of adversity. At this point we have built a healthy identification of ourselves, developed some tools to use before, during and after the period of competition, and now being consistent with it all we tap into our Unbreakable selves. The last exercise is meant to help athletes facing a lot of pressure and those who are having to make the life altering choice of potentially ending their sporting careers.
