Intentional Path to Your Elite Athlete

What started as a simple conversation during the “Mat Talks” that I mention in my book, became a spark of thought that I wanted to expand on.

This thought that often times gets overlooked when thinking about or currently engaging on the path of becoming the best version of your athlete self. That is:

You have to choose to be elite

Within all of us are two very human thoughts and processes that will lead athletes to become their elite selves, or remain average and unfulfilled.

This choice is often times not even acknowledged and typically results in the lack of potential building. One choice, we step into the best version of our athlete self as possible at the time. By choosing this, you set or remind yourself of the goal or motivations and refuse being denied by the thought of failure. This also means that you are focused on yourself and what you are working on or doing.

The other option, the default if not checked, is we go through the motions and remain average and fall short of our potential for the day. By being unchecked, the tendency to look at others successes and compare it to ours or the lack there of happens more often and we lose focus of the journey of becoming or best athlete selves.

How do you choose to conquer the day, the moment as an athlete? What does the path to your elite athlete self look like for now?

If you, someone you know, a team or facility would like to explore more of this reach out now and let’s figure out how to make that path clear for you!
