I am learning that pushing parents, athletes and coaches to incorporate mental performance into their lives likely creates further resistence.
On the other hand, I find that the same population that do decided to do the work, are self motivated and making the active, daily choice to get the best out of themselves. All the stats, the recommendations from professional players, the amount of times one hears about mental performance training is not enough.
So, I lean more into curiousity and leave it for athletes, parents, coaches and trainers to decided. What do you want for your athlete? To get the most out of themselves, or leave it to chance that they develop everything they need to succeed?
As a trainer or coach, do you trust your current ability to connect with the athletes inner workings for complete development, or is it not something of importance to your development scheme?
What will you decide for yourself and your athlete everyday?
